Getting Here

Self Drive

Selwyn Snowfields is located an easy 2.5 hour drive from Canberra, 5.5 hour drive from Sydney and 6.5 hour drive from Melbourne.  As there is no accommodation on the mountain, most people stay in the nearby townships of Adaminaby or Talbingo a short 30 to 40 minutes drive from the slopes.

It is a requirement that all vehicles except 4WDs carry properly fitting chains at all times on the Snowy Mountains Highway.  These can be hired most service stations on your way to Selwyn Snowfields.  You will be required to pay an entry fee for the National Park which is $27 per vehicle per day.  Alternatively you can purchase an annual pass for $190 or book them in advance through Snowy Mountains Holiday Centre and receive a discount.  For more information on National Park entry fees visit
